| The 7th Bomb Wing B-36 Association was formed in September 1981 when 20 ex-B-36ers from the 7th Bomb Wing initiated plans for a reunion of their former comrades. Retired officers Lt. Col. Glenn R. Loveall and Maj. John P. Irons directed the effort resulting in a 1982 spring reunion of over 800 attendees.
The Articles of Incorporation were approved by the State of Texas March 18, 1982, followed by an Internal Revenue Service designation as a tax exempt veterans organization. The Constitution and Bylaws, approved by the members in 1985, encouraged all former Carswell AFB personnel of the B-36 era - 1948-1958 - to join. The purpose of the Association is four-fold and was organized to provide:
A newsletter - The SCANNER - is published periodically and is distributed to all dues-paying members. The organization's bylaws stipulate dissolution and cessation of all activities following the first Board of Director's meeting in 2010. The organization held its last reunion beginning 23 April 2009 and is now planning its last flight.

MEET B-36 VETERANS HERE
| Off we go into the wild blue yonder Climbing high into the sun; Here they come zooming to meet our thunder, At 'em boys, give 'er the gun! Down we dive spouting our flames from under, Off with one hell-of-a-roar! We live in fame or go down in flame, Nothing'll stop the US Air Force! Minds of men fashioned a crate of thunder, Sent it high into the blue; Hands of men blasted the world asunder, How they lived God only knew! Souls of men dreaming of skies to conquer Gave us wings ever to soar, With scouts before and bombers galore, Nothing can stop the US Air Force! |
