The 7th Bomb Wing B-36 Association was formed in September 1981 when 20 ex-B-36ers from the 7th Bomb Wing initiated plans for a reunion of their former comrades.  Retired officers Lt. Col. Glenn R. Loveall and Maj. John P. Irons directed the effort resulting in a 1982 spring reunion of over 800 attendees.

The Articles of Incorporation were approved by the State of Texas March 18, 1982, followed by an Internal Revenue Service designation as a tax exempt veterans organization.  The Constitution and Bylaws, approved by the members in 1985, encourages all former Carswell AFB personnel of the B-36 era - 1948-1958 - to join.

The purpose of the Association is four-fold and is organized to provide:

  1. Biennial reunions;
  2. A central registry of former 7BW B-36 personnel;
  3. A historical record of the B-36 era and;
  4. Rosters and news letters for our members.

A newsletter - The SCANNER - is published periodically and is distributed to all dues-paying members.

Annual non-prorated dues are $5 for regular and associate members; $5 for honorary members. Life Membership is offered to all categories upon payment of $25. The fiscal year runs from 1 January to 31 December.

MEET B-36 VETERANS HERE

Off we go into the wild blue yonder
Climbing high into the sun;
Here they come zooming to meet our thunder,
At'em boys, giv'er the gun!
Down we dive spouting our flames from under,
Off with one hell-uf-a-roar!
We live in fame or go down in flame,
Nothing'll stop the US Air Force!

Minds of men fashioned a crate of thunder,
Sent it high into the blue;
Hands of men blasted the world asunder,
How they lived God only knew!
Souls of men dreaming of skies to conquer
Gave us wings ever to soar,
With scouts before and bombers galore,
Nothing can stop the US Air Force!
