Our Board of Directors met January 14, 2009 at the Radisson South Hotel to begin making final plans for our last reunion to be held April 23 to 26 2009 at the Radisson Hotel South. We decided to use our excess money to subsidize the Sunday Breakfast and the men's and lady's lunch. The Association will pay for these meals for a member and one guest if we receive your reservation by April 3. If we don't get your reservation by that time expect to pay full price. When you make your reservation for the hotel, make sure they know you are with the 7th Bomb Wing B-36 Association because the Association is subsidizing the cost of our rooms.

We haven't made any extra-curricular activities but the SAC Monument is complete and is quite unique.  We can carpool to the Navy Base if there is enough interest.  Bring your cameras!  I am looking forward to seeing all of you to celebrate this last reunion together.

From time-to-time STANLEY SOLMONSON has sent us interesting items for the SCANNER.  Last fall he sent a wonderful picture of a B-36 taking off.  Then he out-did himself. Last month he sent two 4'x6' color copies of the B-36 painting by Mike Machatt titled "Six Turning and Four Burning". Come to the reunion and see them for yourself.

Much of the planning and leg work for the next reunion is the result of actions by DOUG WOOD and wife SHIRLEY.

Complimentary Men/Ladies Lunch and Sunday breakfast will be provided to each member and one guest - if they register no later than 3 April 2009..

HOTEL RESERVATIONS

Hotel reservations should be made no later than 3 April directly with Radisson Hotel South. Address and phone numbers are on the reservation form. Note that parking is free.

DRESS

Coat and tie for men and "after 5" for ladies at the Saturday Banquet. All other events, "Texas Casual".

BANQUET SEATING

As in the past, seating reservations for the Banquet MUST be made at Registration. WARREN ARTHUR will have all the info during registration. Names, not a dash or vertical line, must be placed in spaces. Also, table numbers must be placed next to your name on the roster of attendees. That way people can decide who to sit with - or stay away from..

TRANSPORTATION

Transportation from DFW to the hotel can be arranged with "SUPER SHUTTLE" by giving them a call from the free phone in the baggage pick-up area. They will come by and pick you up. The fee from DFW is $31 for each passenger one way ($41 from Dallas Love Field). Call from hotel for return trip.

Rent-A-Car is another option and there are many specials, AFA, AAA, AARP, etc.
