PREZ SEZ

I stated in the last SCANNER that the PREZ SEZ column was to be my last because a new President would be elected at the Reunion. JACK BEDDINGFIELD was elected, and he quickly informed me that the by-laws state that his term does not start until July 1st, 2007. He is right, and besides I would never argue with someone his size even if he wasn't right, so here I am again.

It is probably a good thing because I have some apologies to make. I recognized everyone on my list who contributed to the success of the reunion on down to Green Oaks employees. The problem was that my list was incomplete. It did not include the hard working team that assembled and manned the memorabilia room and set up the movie. My apologies to FRANK KLEINWECHTER, DON PYEATT, SCOTT DEAVER, BOB ADAMS, NEWTON FALLIS and LEON LONG.

B/G BILL GUY was not at the Banquet, so I did not mention his outstanding memorial to our fallen members. His words accompanied by DON PYEATT's slides and the playing of "Taps" were an appropriate tribute to those on our "Last Flight" roster.

Another contributor who was invited but did not attend the Banquet was ANN TORRES, who made the name tags for all of you who registered (as instructed) before the reunion.

That brings up another subject. We always urge you to register early so we can give the hotel accurate space and food estimates for each event. Still we always have walk-in entries who seem surprised when we don't have a name tag made for them. And when they are rude to our volunteers……..that strips my threads. We're all getting too old to put up with that type of conduct. I have suggested to the Board that a substantial door prize (or prizes) be awarded, by drawing of names, at the next Reunion Banquet. Guests and walk in registrants would not be eligible.

Maybe it was a good thing JACK wanted me to write this PREZ SEZ article. It gave me a chance to vent.

Thanks to all of you who complimented us on a good reunion. Your praise makes it all worthwhile.
